Parking, Registration & Kit check

Parking
Car Parking for the event will be in the Lismore Comprehensive School. (Please do not use the carpark for Craigavon Leisure Centre) The school is just on the other side of the road from the Hub and you should use the subway to cross under the road turn right and then come into the Hub via the back gate. This should be marked out on the day with red arrows.

Registration
Bring your bikes with you and put them along the outside wall of the building, registration will take place in the training room, you'll see the door open, toilets will be available inside. You will also have to sign on for the event so please come together with  your team mate. We will then issue you with your SI card (timing chip) and race bibs, both these need to be returned after the event. We will also give you your route details for the day, this will give you you're first sneek preview of the route ahead.

Kit Check
There will be a spot kit check on some of your safety items, both the council and the PSNI have ask they you make sure you have a bell fitted to your bike, some of the areas we'll be using will see you come close to walkers.

Transition Area

After the race brief 09:15-09:30 finishes we will go in a group on bikes to the transtion area which is about 2km away. You need to be ready before to go before the race brief as we'll roll to the start as soon as it's over. Once at the transition area you need to rack your bikes and await one final brief on how the race will start.

Start Area

The start area will be beside the main transition area and you'll be starting with a very short run to split you up before heading out on the bikes more details to follow at the final race brief.

Sportident Timing System

Many of you will of used this timing system before but some may not of used it, if you're not sure about it make sure you let us know when you arrive and we'll give you a quick demo, it's really simple to use so there's nothing to worry about.

The timing chips are expensive so if you loose yours you will have to pay for a replacement which depending on the type we use will cost between £30-£60.

At certain stages of the race you will also have to use the old orienteering punches, details of when you need to use these will be on your route instruction sheet which you will get before the start of the event.

Finish

The finish will be back at the event HQ, once you finished you will need to make your way to the download point where you have to download and return your Sportident timing chip plus both of your race bibs.

Showers will be available at Craigavon Leisure Centre. These will cost £1 per person, last entry into the centre will be 4pm, so if you're looking a shower then you better be quick.

FAQ's

Which shoes and tyres should I use?
A large part of the route will be on sealed surfaces but we will be taking advantage of the 10km of single track mountain bike trails in the area. It's your call what type of tyre you use. Again the run section/s will be mixed although a trail shoe may the best option here.

Do I need to carry my running shoes during the bike sections?
Yes.

Can you tell me more about the route?
More details to follow but in the meantime it may be useful to read the following Highway Code.

What's the weather like in Craigavon?
At this time of the year it's likely to be cold, check this link for Current Craigavon Weather forecast, wrap up warm, bring extra layers and think about what you plan to wear, shorts might not be the best option.

Where can we get accommodation?
